Name: | Steve Rogers |
---|---|
Location: | United States |
Name: Steven Rogers [aka: Captain America]
Age: You know, it's debatable. Either early 20s, or in his 90s.
Height: 6'0"
Point taken from canon timeline, or nature of AU-ness: Well say, just after 'The Avengers'. And I do play him movieverse, since I am still trying to get any sort of perspective on the massive body of work that is Marvel.
Brief Personality Description: He's straight forward, polite to the point of seeming stiff or cold [until you get to know him... and the veneer isn't actually all that thick]. Steve holds his beliefs around him like a shield, but he's also willing to change when he can see the truth of something, or the prudence, or sometimes.... even just the Right of it. He feels alone, but he yearns to be part of something larger than himself, even knowing the pain that comes with that. His true strength doesn't come from super powers, or the alterations to his body... but from an indomitable spirit and a heart that needs to save the World.
Brief History: After trying [and failing] to protect and serve his country by joining the Army, Steve ended up in a secret program that was searching for Super Soldier candidates. He submitted himself for experimentation [without asking very many questions about the outcome or side effects], and gained super strength and a healing factor that renders him generally invincible, though not completely. As a side effect, everything about his personality was enhanced as well; what was a love of his country and a need to prove himself, became a true fervor for patriotism. He became Captain America. After losing a friend and winning a secret war that raged beneath the surface of WWII, Steve sacrificed himself to save the population of New York [as well as several other keystone American cities] and was lost. His body was found, frozen in the Artic, just in time for him to be revived and recruited into the Avengers; now that the initial threat they were brought together to neutralize has been taken care of, Steve has been... attempting to acclimate.
